Segovilla
**City of Segovilla**
**General description:**
Segovilla is a coastal city located along the shores of the strait called "The Maw", and is the capital of what remains of Grenvias Earldom. In fact, the county is surrounded on three sides by the looming Darkness and risks being completely surrounded. It is renowned for its naval workshops, which produce some of the strongest and fastest ships in the entire kingdom of Sobral. The city is surrounded by majestic walls, with bastions and watchtowers protecting its precious port. However, in recent times, chaos and unrest have taken over its streets due to the rebellion led by Felipe Maderas. The news of this rebellion has arrived in the capital and it's attracting the attention of the royal court.**Important Places:**
- **Royal Shipyard:** The Royal Shipyard of Segovilla is one of the largest and best equipped in the kingdom. Ships and windships of all types and sizes are built here, from small fishing boats to massive warships. However, as the rebellion began, many of the ships under construction were abandoned or sabotaged by the rioters, causing severe damage to the city's shipping industry.
- **Port Square:** This spacious square directly overlooks the port of Segovilla and is the beating heart of the city. Here you will find merchants, sailors, fishermen, and adventurers who gather to trade, share stories, and plan journeys. However, with the advent of the rebellion, the square became a site of unrest and protests, with demonstrators gathering to express their support or opposition to Felipe Maderas' cause.
- **Governor's Tower:** Located in the center of the city, the Governor's Tower is the residence of the noble house who governs the County of Grenvias. Currently, the tower is under heavy surveillance and protection, as the governor, Luis de la Medida, Earl of Grenvias, fears an attack by insurgents. His efforts to maintain peace and order in the city have been tested by growing instability.
**Folklore:**
According to local folklore, Segovilla was founded by ancient sailors who venerated the sea goddess, Thalassa. Thalassa is said to have always protected the city during storms and pirate attacks, ensuring the safety of its inhabitants and the prosperity of its port. Some believe that the recent unrest is a punishment from the goddess for the injustice and corruption in the kingdom of Sobral, while others hope that Thalassa can still intervene to end the chaos and restore peace to Segovilla.
