SWN Session 1: The Story Begins
General Summary
The story begins with three unlikely allies banding together to avoid the dangers of a world where the only laws are pleasure and might. The starcity of Achna, near the planet's main downport, is the primary population center of Saeez , and life in the streets is not so nice for someone without friends. Our group of heroes knows that they need to buy passage off-world to escape their enemies, but such does not come cheap.
Decima
Decima is a no-nonsense woman who left her homeworld of Pan to seek wealth and status as a high-born courtesan on Saeez. Unfortunately, the warlords there are none too keen to share power and status. Decima has maintained her dignity, however, relying on her skills as a warrior noble as often as her prowess in closed rooms.Allorik
This scoundrel has found himself in hot water with local authorities in many locations. Currently laying low in a low-law locality, he once again has found himself on a Wanted list. Allorik has not opened up about his past to his current companions, but, seeing as they are the only friends he's got at the moment, he happily cooperates for group survival.Danica
Another native of Pan, Danica is currently on the run from a shadowy arm of some powerful organization. Even she doesn't know who they are, or what their ultimate goal may be. All she knows is that they were interested in her psychic powers; Metapsionics is a rare gift among an already rare breed of humans. And as it turns out, this has put her much higher on the Wanted List in Saeez than either of her companions.The Job
Having been holed up in a run-down apartment for some time now, the group finally has a break when Decima is called on by a famous Warlord, Rahim Tabari, for her services. The group hastily concocts the idea to make a heist of the Warlord's personal planetside compound. When the gravcar driver shows up, however, Decima realizes that something is off. It's not just a kid; this driver is one of Rahim's elite bodyguards. When they arrive at the compound, Rahim treats his guests quite well. He invites them to walk in his well-tended gardens as they discuss a little "problem" in which he finds himself. The Warlord's clan has become reliant upon addictive combat stims, and their current supply is running low because of a tainted shipment. They need to complete a contracted job soon, or the gig is up. He could lose everything if the other warbands realized he had no power. The drug supplier has a warehouse in a slum at the outskirts of the starcity. He expected Decima to sweet talk her way in as a deniable asset, but the surprise of her bringing friends might actually make things easier. The group needs to find out whether the supplier, one Mikiya Takahashi, deliberately tainted the goods, he allowed them to be adulterated by carelessness, or if he was completely uninvolved. The target building has outdated security systems and gangers hired as cheap guards. Surveillance shows a large floor drain in the secure loading dock which might be a point of entry. The payout for this job is 2,500 cr. Decima failed to convince him to pay part in advance, but Allorik sweet-talked Rahim's personal assistant into at least providing temporary access to a ground car to pull off the operation.
