Doha (DOE-HA)

Doha is a largely pastoral world, with very little variation in elevation. Its people are mainly rural, though pockets of population do exist. Their knowledge of agricultural practice and technology is unmatched, and the capital Karbala is a hub of business that coordinates the collection and export of goods. Upon the formation of the Asmaran Federation, Doha was chosen as the host for the Asmaran Seat. The most technologically advanced city the federation could muster was built on the surface, and was named Qina. Despite this, agriculture remains Doha’s main industry and export, their farms slowly integrating pre-tech techniques for producing large amounts of produce, and bringing some pre-tech infrastructure online. Doha houses The Seat, the federation's parliament, and the Federal Psionics Academy.

History

The planet Doha was originally home to a largely agricultural culture. Large pre-tech farms kept the settlement fed for the first few decades of the silence, giving them long enough to discover methods to maintain them without the steadily declining pre-tech farming technologies. For the majority of the silence, Doha consisted of a lattice of small farming communities that performed subsistence farming, doing little to advance themselves. Approaching the end of the silence, the Dohanian people came together to form the Dohanian People's Collective, which remains the planet’s local government to this day.
