Alsus

Alsus is the goddess of winter and cold weather. She doesn't have many followers among human societies, because they consider her realm to bring death and devastation. When humans worship or give thanks to her it's most often for being spared or for what she didn't do, rather than something she actively did for them.
Despite this, she has enough of a following of creatures who thrive in the cold to maintain her status as a lesser deity within the Divine Realm.

Description

Alsus appears in the form of a middle aged woman with pristine and cold features. Soft, pale skin, with cool blue eyes that chill anyone who gazes into them. Her shoulder length black hair contains streaks of pure white. She is most often adorned with soft silky gowns of blues, silvers, and whites, often with fringes of fur that serve as an aesthetic touch rather than providing actual warmth. She also wears dark black gloves that cover her hands and reach all the way up past her elbows, owing to the fact that touching a living being with her bare skin would rob it of all heat and almost certainly grant unto it an icy death. She carries a pure white staff, topped with an eight pointed snow flake, and leaves a trail of snow and ice in her wake wherever she walks.

Personality

Alsus is aloof and vain around those she believes to be beneath her, but is not so arrogant that she can't recognize the fact that many greater deities dwarf her in standing and power. Around these, she is quiet and reserved.

Relationships

Alsus is on good terms with Kawahara, as the two believe the cyclic nature of the seasons to be crucial in maintaining proper balance in Seinnaris. Sometimes they step on each others toes, Alsus allowing winter to creep in early before a harvest is complete, or Kawahara bringing new growth back before Alsus's snow has fled the ground. Despite this, neither one would try to truly usurp or over power the other.
Although Alsus is not often worshiped by humands, she does enjoy their respect in the form of fear from time to time. This is a trait she shares with Eradrin, and the two work together over the winter season to create icy cold storms to remind everyone of their power.
