Anzai

A Pannoowan hunter, tracker, mercenary, and bounty hunter. He is better known by his alias The Adamant.

Appearance

Anzai has the light red colored skin of most Pannoowan. The sides of his head are shaved clean, but from the top and back grows shoulder length black hair that is usually braided into one or more ponytails. The right half of his neck and cheek is tattooed with red colored flames. His left shoulder and upper arm is tattooed with blue swirls and snowflake patterns.
His eyes are mismatched in appearance, and each has a long scar above it. The right eye has a tall, black, oval shaped pupil with a yellow'ish green sclera. The left eye is a solid milky blue'ish color.

Personal History

Anzai was born to a nomadic tribe somewhere in the northern half of the Pannoowan Territories in S284. When he was young he trained as a hunter and tracker, and quickly found that he was more in tune with wild creatures than even the other experienced Pannoowan hunters. The more he practiced, the more he realized it was through the aid of magic, which was extremely uncommon among his people.
In S298 he journeyed to Sanwen to study under Mythea of the Cobalt Scar at the Cobalt Daiga. He caught on quickly and was hailed by many as a prodigy, which was even more remarkable given his bloodline. He was aggressive and opinionated though, and clashed often with older students.
In S305, following Mythea's death, he left schooling behind in favor of tracking down and training against the fiercest things he was able to find in the wild. Sometimes this coincided with a paid job, and other times it was just for the sake of his own training. Unbeknownst to anyone, he was also using this time to experiment on the creatures he hunted and even his own body. He developed his own twist on Mythea's magic and began splicing parts from different creatures into his own body to more easily replicate many of their strengths and abilities. Despite the secretive nature of his work, he still managed to develop a reputation as a hunter that never let their prey escape. It was for this reason that he was given the nickname The Adamant.
It was only a matter of time before employers began contacting him to hunt more than just animals. Officially he tracks down bounties and criminals, but rumors say he is not above jobs that involved intimidation, robbery, or assassination if the pay is right.

Abilities

Like most Pannoowau warriors, Anzai is an incredible tracker, hunter, and fighter. Unlike most Pannoowau however, he can also wield magic. In particular, the unusual form of magic that was taught by Mythea of the Cobalt Scar.
Owing to his unique applications of that magic, he has replaced some of his own body parts to gain even more abilities. Although his versions of these are weaker than the creatures they came from, he possesses the truesight of a couatl, the petrification of a basilisk, and the regeneration of a troll.
The tattoos on his skin are another form of magic, which grant him resistance to both fire and cold magic.
