Just Bourbon

Just Bourbon is a brand of bourbon whiskey produced on Hangover, an asteroid Habitat in the Dyad System. It was the first bourbon to be produced in space, shortly after the completion of the very first Habitat. Its original name was Spbourbon, short for "Space Bourbon," but marketing this name proved to be quite challenging. After rebranding, sales began to soar and it is now sold across the galaxy.

History

Founded in AC 795 when Speremiah Beaubregard Tippesiman III took his independent distillery operation out into space to experiment with how zero g affected the flavor and potency of his spirits (it did not, hence the name), and to escape prosecution on Arcadia for evading the excessive alcoholic beverage tax. The business has now been passed through five and a half⁽¹⁾ generations of Tippesimans and is still run by the family.
Every 12 years, Just Bourbon releases a new small batch of premium bourbon under the "Master Label." These are aged in the same barrels the original batch of Spbourbon was produced in in 795. The batch is limited and highly sought after by connoisseurs, making bottles of it very hard to come by.

Manufacturing process

Just Bourbon is made with 100% spacegrown products - nothing is imported from the Core Worlds. The brand sources its corn from a number of agricultural Habitats. Standard batches are barrel-aged for 2 years after being distilled.











⁽¹⁾ Determined by court ruling in a lawsuit brought on by one of Just Bourbon's competitors after the untimely death of Speremiah Beaubregard Tippesiman VII, who was inheritor of the business for just three days before his passing. The subsequent generation of Tippesimans was secured through artificial insemination.
