Personal history

Throughout his childhood, Castor moved back and forth across the Eoion-Yzel border with his family. The group stopped in whatever town they could, selling handmade pieces and taking up day labor work in order to supplement their income. Due the the discrimination their people faced after the Sicru Battles, it was difficult for them to find work or be paid at the same wages a citizen of either country would have earned. Even so, Castor and his family survived.    As the oldest of five, he was responsible for keeping his younger siblings (three sisters and one brother) from getting into trouble and protecting them from any who went after the group while their parents were working. Even at a young age, he found that herding people was a natural talent. He was never the leader of his social groups, but could gather the other children together.    The dominant group within his tribe was Seraphim and when he was fifteen, his oldest younger sister (13) went missing deep within their area of the camp. This was one of the more criminally inclined chapters and most knew to stay away. Castor tried to find information on what had happened, but none of the members would speak to him because he was not part of them.    Fearful for his sister and angry at being turned away from people who purported to help, he turned to Seraph Rae instead. At first, they refused given that the missing girl was likely part of their rival faction, but Castor eventually convinced the local arc to help through a combination of money and the promise to submit to Seraph Rae. He joined for this alone and attacked the member of Seraphim who had dismissed him in order to prove his loyalty to his new 'family'.    While running missions for his gang, he was given permission to search for his sister and, with the help of other Seraph Rae gang members, discovered that she had been kidnapped and given as a gift to an Eoin noble in exchange for weapons, food, and money. This enraged him and he begged his arc for permission to attack the Seraphim chapter in their camp. Generally, the two gangs held a truce while so close together as fighting could place many innocents in danger.    Rather than attack them, Castor chose a different tactic. He circulated information through the camp regarding what had happened and repeated his story at each town they visited, relating how Seraphim had sold his sister. Some believed him, some didn't, but the story caused a growing fracture in the support for Seraphim that led to Castor being attacked in his tent.     His arc and two other Seraph Rae gang members had been with him and together they killed the assailants, the leader of the chapter among them. Talk of the attempted assassination spread and Seraphim was run out of the camp as people believed such an attack would only mean a cover up and membership with Seraph Rae grew.    The domae arrived several months later and noticed Castor speaking to a group of teens in a local town dominated by descendants of the nomads. He discussed what Seraphim had done and his reasons for joining Seraph Rae, along with the help they provided in finding his sister when no one else would assist him. Once the talk was over, the domae met with both Castor and his arc and Castor was sent to other towns and camps to help recruit for the gang.    His mostly peaceful approach kept him under the radar and he traveled with a few others, assisting them in crossing back and forth over the boarder, which familiarized him with human trafficking. Those who were part of Seraphim, kidnapped, and deposited to others were meaningless to him as they were members of the group that had done so to his family. His efforts led to the recruitment of 1000 new members to Seraph Rae, along with the transport of 320 people across the border. However, fights with Seraphim members were common and more than once he was beaten nealrly to death in towns dominated by them, resulting in a series of scars across his nose and jaw.    By 1070, he was well known as the most prolific recruiter in Seraph Rae. While he never advanced beyond the rank of family member, he had gained a great deal of respect for his ability to speak to others and present Seraph Rae in the correct light. He knew about the criminal activity, but excused it or wrapped it into a noble cause as necessary for whoever he was speaking to. This caught the attention of Ires Droor who met with him and promised to free his sister if Castor took over the position of second cherin.    Skeptical yet hopeful, he agreed and to this day, he does not know how Ires managed to free her. True to his word, he took the new position and began training others in his techniques for trafficking and recruitment. Because of what Ires did for him, he is loyal not only to Seraph Rae, but Ires specifically. The romantic relationship between himself, Ires, and Kaja Onfroi has become the most important in his life.
