Gix Wudarol (GIKS woo'DAH'rohl)
The gix wudarol (trans. gift of the tooth) is both an item and a ritual, although the name primarily refers to the item itself.
Before the institution of royal inbreeding by Timof II, the Shiroko Dynasty married other nobility as was standard. When the ruler married someone from outside of the family, a gift was given during the coronation of the new royal consort in the form of a tsirin tooth. This was meant to symbolize the new royal consort's official acceptance into the family, above and beyond their marriage, and their right to the second highest position in the empire. The ruler will present their spouse with the tooth directly before placing the crown on their head. This symbolizes their acceptance into the family before their rule, as the acceptance is part of what gives them the right to the title of tsudaeba. As the supreme head of the empire, the ruler is the only one who can bestow the gix.
Once the inbreeding began, siblings and cousins married one another and there was no reason to symbolically bring them into the family because they were already part of it.
Wegix (teeth) were most often kept in a box within the royal consort's home within the Gandenye. If converted into a piece of jewelry, they were only worn during formal occasions. If not, they were still brought to such occasions, but kept in a pouch on the consort's person at all times.
Significance
The gixi symbolize the acceptance of a person not of royal blood being accepted into the royal family and their right to stand beside the ruler, their spouse, compounded with their marriage vows.
