Proxy Tremor
Due to the strong connection between the Shiroko Dynasty and the Tsirin, when the creator of a tsirin is ill, the tsirin can, inversely, become stronger in order to protect their ailing maker. While this might generally be a good thing, the longer the illness persists in the creator, the more of a strain is placed on the body of the tsirin.
Severe illness in their creator causes greater amounts of strength, whereas something like the common cold would only lead to a small increase.
No matter the severity, the increase can only last for a short time or the tsirin's body begins to break down and the creature can become ill itself.
Transmission & Vectors
The marker within the tsirin is the direct cause of the condition. This is the connection between the tsirin and their creator. There is no other way for the condition to be transmitted.
Causes
Proxy Tremor is caused by the connection between the markers of the creator and their tsirin. The tsirini have an intense connection to their makers, stronger than the bonds between the Shiroko and other Ilyannoi. This is because the tsirin is the highest form of life that are created during the ruler's lifetime. Lower creatures do not have as intense of a connection.
When the creator falls ill, the tsirin's body reacts by preparing to defend them. This leads to the tremors the illness is known for.
Symptoms
The most prominent symptom, as suggested by the name, is the series of tremors that run through a tsirin's body. Their muscles specifically are the most observable manifestations of the shivering as they are worked into an extremely tense state, the severity of which is dependent on the seriousness of the tsirin's creator's illness.
Tsirini are also able to harness essences. Their gathering rate increases during the illness, which puts a further strain on their bodies. The increase in concentrated essence can lead to various effects from overheating (gathered heat essence) to difficulty moving joints (earth essence) to difficulty seeing (void and light).
The rate at which these effects are displayed depends on the magical control the tsirin has, their ability to discharge the magic, and the rate that they gather the essences.
Treatment
Healing the creator is the fastest way to stop Proxy Tremors. However, the Shiroko have devised other strategies to help their closest creatures as having both the ruler and their strongest fighter out of commission at once is not good for the empire.
First, the tsirin is encouraged to discharge any excess essence they gather. This can be done through simple, controlled blasts or by standing near irum and having another essence user draw power out of the tsirin and into the stone. This task is generally done by the spouse or other family member of the ruler.
To dissipate the tremors, the tsirin was originally told to run around the Golden City. However, this was found to cause more problems as the tsirini tended to show greater tremors upon their return to their creator's side, which led to the determination that remaining in close proximity and observing their maker's treatment calmed them and decreased the shivering.
Lastly, the Shiroko discovered that certain plants help calm the tremors by acting as relaxants. These are considered an extreme measure as they tend to make their tsirini lethargic and decreases their ability to act as defenders.
Prognosis
Generally, the condition resolves itself when the creator returns to full health. In the case of long term illnesses, the tsirin may adapt to its new state and use a combination of attention and discharge to manage on their own.
Cultural Reception
While the royal family knows everything about the condition, the public only knows the strengths. The Shiroko have been extremely careful to only allow the increase in strength to be known so as to encourage those who might think to take advantage of a weakened monarch not to try.
They have used the connection to reinforce the association between the Ilyannoi and the royal family and thus cite it as evidence of their magical power, turning a potential weakness into a form of intimidation.
