The Elerian Scrolls

For millennia it was commonly believed that the world had always been shattered. The existence of Danova, the Godmother, and her subsequent death was only known through the interactions between the Gods and their followers. However, during the second Era, a large heist within the Elven capital revealed definitive evidence of a world before.   A group of adventurers had covertly broken into the Elven Capital looking for treasures of great value, instead, they found a vault that would forever change the world. Deep beneath the capital was a tomb containing the graves of Elven Lords dated to before The Shattering. Along with these graves were documents that the adventurers stole. They quickly returned to Macarish and publicly presented the scrolls of the Macarish government.

The Elerian Scrolls

Later named The Elerian Scrolls, these scrolls documented life and history before Danova’s death. On top of describing events that only oracles had seen, they were also able to be magically dated to much earlier than expected. These documents proved what had long been suspected, that life existed before the death of Danova, and the Gods had specifically purged the memories of beings who were alive at the time.   Many clerics and paladins have communicated with the Gods and proven that this world before the split existed. What many researchers now try to understand is why the Gods tried to keep this time before time secret. Iactus, the God of Water, has been the only one to speak to his followers. He proclaimed that time as one of trouble, a time when the Gods were young and fickle, constantly fighting amongst themselves for their mother’s love. A time they wish to forget.

Aftermath

Many books have been created on this subject matter, some that prove how these scrolls are real and others that try to disprove them. One thing is for certain, however, is these scrolls had a grand effect on the Elven Empire. They have been used by many warmongers to act as proof of rulership over the world. They also lead to the Faazeers' lockdown. The Elven Empires have banished all non-elves from the land and installed guardsto prevent future thefts.
