Half-Dwarf
Torn between the turbulent lives of the humans and the traditional world of the dwarves, half-dwarves are constantly reminded of their dual heritage. By the time a half-dwarf reaches adulthood, they have already discovered their lot in life: to be intermediaries between the complex inter-clan politics of the dwarves and the comparatively lackadaisical human world. Despite a common aversion to this role, half-dwarves are quite suited for it. They inherit the acumen and connection to the arcane of their dwarven parent but without the rigid thinking and stubbornness thanks to their human parent.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Depending on who you talk to, half-dwarves look like short, stocky, hairy humans, or like tall, thin dwarves. Half-dwarves stand between 5 and 5.5 feet tall and weigh between 130 to 180 pounds. Their most noticeable trait is the thick hair that belies their dwarven heritage, though some choose to shave extensively to mask their dwarven ancestry. Appearance wise, half-dwarves can be as varied as either race, though they tend to have the coloration of their human parents.
Genetics and Reproduction
Like all half-human breeds, half-dwarves are rare.
Growth Rate & Stages
Half-dwarves mature at the same rate humans do and reach adulthood around the age of 18. They live slightly longer than humans, however, often exceeding 125 years.
