The Sending
The Sending is the primary burial ritual of the Gazel Ministry. Traditionally, the deceased are buried in the ground while a priest sings the hymns of the Sending. For formal burials, or funerals of celebrated individuals, the Sending is performed as a dance led by the administering priest while one or more others sing the hymns.
For the Gazel, conducting a funeral without a body is a tragic event as a Sending cannot be performed without one. In such cases, only some of the hymns are sung.
