Marshal
Qualifications
Must have served for 10+ years with distinction and is appointed by the Minister of Defense or directly by the Queen.
Appointment
There are three Legions that make up the Agosian military. When a position for a Marshal opens up, the Minister of Defense will request suggestions for appointees to the rank. The appointee must have a minimum of 10+ years of military service with a record of distinction and military accomplishment.
When the Minister of Defense makes the appointment, the new Marshal is summoned to Agos for a military ceremony where the Queen will officially bestow the rank upon them.
Duties
The Marshal is responsible for the entirety of his/her Legion of troops. This involves mission assignments, supply logistics (at a high level), promotion of rank within the Legion, etc.
Benefits
The Marshal is the highest rank in the Agosian military. It carries a great deal of prestige and is compensated quite generously by the Crown commiserate to the responsibilities of the position.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
A formal concern or complaint can be filed by any Brigadier ranked officer, another Marshal, or through high ranking civilian authority (such as a Marquis or Duke). If there appears to be sufficient grounds for an investigation into the complaint or concern, the Minster of Defense will authorize one to determine the extent and/or severity of the claim. If evidence shows that the Marshal is incapable of holding the position due to mental or physical health constraints they will be forced to retire. If the complaint is due to a breach of conduct or crime, then a military Tribunal is held to determine guilt and consequence.
