Scion I

We left a lot on that rock. And now it's trapped in a casket of steel. Only echoes can pass to the surface and back.   -Andre Kapeniak, head science lead for SCION Signaling Inc.

Geography

Scion I is a rough planetoid, littered with craters. Proximity to the parent star prevents much variation in the planetoid's surface.

Ecosystem

No biological organisms present.

Localized Phenomena

Proximity to the parent star results in radioactive fluctuations on the planetoid's surface. Often from solar flares.

Natural Resources

Scion I's surface is rich in Helium and Hydrogen, trapped in the soil.

History

In 5002u, SCION Signaling Inc. established a surface base on the planetoid, the first structures built. The base was used for SSI's core mission, experimentation with deep space signaling.   In 5013u, the Void Rangers seized the planetoid, evicting the science team for unknown reasons. The Void Rangers then destroyed all orbiting satellites, causing an impenetrable debris field to orbit the planet. The motivations for this are still a mystery to Union.
