Royal Park
The royal Park in Elmazar is a wonderful park surrounding the Citadel of the Sky.
The Royal Park is split in two. The outer half, which is open towards the Plaza of Dreams, is open to the public as a green lung between all the stone and metal of the city. The inner half is closed off by walls and heavily guarded gates, and is only open for the royal family of Asharia. The inner half is, of course, more perfectly designed than the outer half, but as every other place in Elmazar that's meant for the general public even the outer part is impressive with its flawlessly shaped bushes and highly detailed clockwork statues.
The inner part of the Royal Park is one of the few places where the princesses of Asharia are allowed to go without supervision and guards, so extra great care has been done to make it look beautiful and interesting. The cut bushes are even more spectacular, shaped into animals and geographical shapes in ways that seems impossible to manage in any natural way. Several clockwork automatons and statues are scattered through this half of the park, specifically designed to be impressive, yet delicate to someone who has everything they could ever want. One of these automatons is a branch made out of pure silver, with small, golden birds sitting on it. These birds will move and chirp through thousands upon thousands of tiny gears and an intricate setup of bellows and small flutes, just by pulling down a tiny lever a bit down on the trunk. The tree branch itself is shaped like a T, with the birds sitting on the flat horizontal branches on the top, and has inlays of delicate, whimsical lines of gold as decoration. On the end of each branch there is a small, bronze leaf that will seem to move in the wind when the automaton is running.
