Esker
Esker is a fortified town located at the confluence of the Broken Rock River and the Grey River. Surrounded by particularly fertile land and at the crossroads of two important roads leading directly to the capital situated downstream from the valley.
The town's economy is quite diversified, with productive agriculture, a populated hunting ground and good forestry resources.
However, it is its strategic location that has enabled the town to become such a meeting place.
Indeed, the entire northern part of Arus Fall passes through Esker to reach the capital and a large market has developed within the security of the city walls. Many people come to Esker to buy at low prices and then resell in Roðtull'heill.
Demographics
The majority of the population belongs to the Sons of E'torrar, although there are many Norians because of the commercial and central character of the city.
A large part of the population is made up of merchants of all kinds and swindlers whose skill varies greatly. Most of the people working the land around the town live in villages built on the other banks of the rivers in order to be closer to the exploited resources.
Defences
The city is defended by a large surrounding wall and a dozen circular towers. In addition, the city is protected to the south by a swamp and enclosed to the northwest and south by two rivers.
As the city is the first on the Grey River when one comes from the Silverwood Lands, it has a fairly large garrison of more than 3000 men at all times to defend itself from any aggression and to watch over the tributaries of the river leading to the capital.
