Half-Orcs

Though orc hybrids are often called half-orcs, regardless of their other parent race, by far the most common hybrid is with humans, and so the name "half-orc" is most commonly given to human/orc hybrids. Orcs are not welcome in most civilized society, so half-orcs are often the result of women who have fallen victim to orc raids, though concenting unions are probably more common on the edges of civilization than most humans care to admit. Furthermore, half-orcs have been part of the tapestry of Sildairan societies for so long that orc "blood" can be found in most cities, even if full race orcs cannot.   A disproportionate amount of half-orcs are foundlings, often given to orphanages as babies, and most grow up to be mercenaries, or just as likely muscle for criminal organizations. It is a rare half-orc who can be found in the upper echelons of society, though it is not unheard of.
