The Aether (AY-ther)

The Aether is the magical substance from which everything is said to be shaped. Though invisible to mortal eyes, it surrounds and infuses everything, and in their essence all things are made up of Aether, in one form or another.
According to the myth of the creation of the world, the Gods floated in a sea of magical essence, and this was the Aether, in its proto-state.
Luseidos first burned the Aether, melting it into magma, and Ethelaius then shaped Aether into water, which he threw on the magma, hardening it, and creating the firmament of the world.
Thus, according to myth, both the land, the sea, and the sky, is formed from Aether, and all things, including all living things are made from it. The only things that is not pure Aether are the Gods and their offspring, though according to some interpretations of myth, the Gods themselves emerged from the sea of Aether at the dawn of time.
Others say that the Aether flowed out of the Gods, and so regardless they remain inextricably linked, the Gods and the Aether.
It is generally accepted that magic is manipulation of the raw Aether, and so knowing magic, is knowing the Aether, and how to manipulate it.
