Session 1: The Caryatid Grove Report

General Summary

Introduction:  Welcome to Leviathalas, the favored polis of Karametra, and a city on the brink. Following the murders of high priestess Besma Moonwhisper and prince Jordan Stras, the Nessian War has spread fear and uncertainty throughout the land. The infected city of Lyra looms like a dark cloud on the southern horizon. And beyond that, the armies of Strasfield, still eager for vengeance.
It has been two years since the war and the population has grown restless. The Draconians in their shantytown yearn for their homeland, yet their leader The Polemarch Elkriox insists, at the King's behest, that the continued occupation of Southern Leviathalas is for the good all people of the Northern Poleis. Meanwhile the Nessian Wood continues to grow more dangerous as the imbalance of the natural world draws deadly monsters from their holes. To make matters worse, instability in Wheldrake has led to an interruption in supply lines.
It has been six months since Thorald was killed by the Sun Guard. The King of Draconia publicly lambasted King Stras for sending these undercover agents to perform an assassination on a High Priest of the Church of Apollo. However the Strasians have strictly denied their involvement in the affair, and in return accused the Church of Apollo of committing heinous acts on innocent civilians. Troop presence has increased along the borders of the Nessian Wood while Draconian and Strasian ships stand off in the Shattered Isles. Tensions are at an all time high, and many believe that full-scale war could break out again at even the slightest provocation.
Despite the circumstances the citizens of Leviathalas do their best to keep a brave face as they attempt to continue the business of running the polis.
-Ellisandre was stood up by phaedra
-Zephyra finds a scroll about a miraculous tree
-Sealah and Fabian loitered outside the bar and then approached Ellisandre and Zephyra
-Ismene the Bold caryatid ceremony
-bear from amatrophon runs loose through town, Ellisandre tries to stop but fails and gets injured.
-silverbrow runs into town panicking, caryatid ceremony went wrong. Nekroti infection in the Grove of Heroes.
-Ismene turned into a nekroti tree
-an infected Lampad exploded out of a corpse
-They found a broken piece of clay with a skull stamped on it.
-Anthousa shows up with her lieutenant Hestia. Orders grove burned, caryatids relocated. Asks heroes to investigate how it happened.
-Anthousa says that hermynia might have had a sample of Nekroti and that Linkela makes pots.
-Phaedra shows up late and says she’ll come find Ellisandre.
-Party decides to head to Hermynias shoppe.
