Session 18: The Draconian Military Camp Report

General Summary

After following up in the Amatraphon with Matthias and Philemon, the party regrouped and decided what to do next. After a brief dispute, the party agrees to head to the Draconian Military camp to check in with the Marshal there, Archimedes - although Zephyra expressed a desire to report back to Bileth, it's decided that it'll have to wait until the evening. The party also recognizes that they need to track down the mysterious box, as it's last whereabouts are unknown.
The party continues onward around the city outskirts to the draconian camp. We are met at the door by a handful of guards, who let us pass after Elessandre explains that we were summoned here to help. Another guard recognizes us as the Lina Marshals and let us pass into the camp.
As we enter the camp we notice the stench that comes along with many soldiers cramped into a small isolated camp.
We notice the gleaming Cyprus Gate that secures the southern entrance of Leviathalas at the edge of the camp as we walk through.
As we draw deeper into the camp, we see an Inquisitor leading a smalll group of lizardfolk in a prayer to Apollo. It wasn't received well, and some of the soldiers start to shout about difficulties sleeping, and their general disdain for their situations. Above the crowd, we notice the Marshal standing on a wooden balcony overseeing the camp and they prayer. The priest and the inquistor leave the balcony and enter the building, but the marshal makes eye contact with the party and gestures towards the front of the building.
As the crowd disperses, El overhears two members of the crowd discuss in hushed whispers "Did you open the box?" as they quickly stepped away from the crowd. Selah and Fabian split off to follow the suspicious individual, as Zephyra tries to meet with the Marshal and El tries to blend into the crowd.
As Fabian and Selah catch up to the soldier, they question him about his condition and when he last saw the box. After some convincing, Selah is able to persuade the soldier to give some information in exchange for some of the sleeping potion. The soldier says he opened the box, and then passed out - having nightmares and screaming ever since.
In the meantime, Armedies comes around the corner and Zephyra begins to confront him. He is confused about where the rest of the Lina Marshals are, and appears suspicious of our group, saying that our people have no authority over his camp.
The marshal finally elaborates on the bounty as El and the other party members reconvene with the marshal as he leads up deeper into the camp where we see two well equipped squadrons of soldiers.
The leader, Armdedes, tells us that they have had problems in the Nessian wood. Specifically, people going missing in the copper mines. After the war those mines have been empty. He says he will reward us if we can sort it out and find the missing patrols. It’s west of the ruins of Lyra in the south of the Nessian Wood and a several day journey through danger.
We decide to split up for the night, Fabian and Selah going to Hermynia’s to get more potions for Selah. When they arrived, they saw a crowd of people demanding more healing potions for their own nightmares. Fabian is able to disperse the crowd, and Selah gets 2 additional healing after giving one back to Hermenyia.   Elesandra went to Hyrax tower to make preparations for the adventure like securing horses and supplies.
