Cynhall
Map
Layout
Cynhall is divided informally into somewhat distinct wards based on the commerce or inhabitants of the area.- The Royal Ward is located at the center of the city. It contains the castle, elevated slightly above the rest of the city. Home to the Royal Family of Therium, the castle itself is a fairly classic fantasy castle, surrounded by thick walls. It's well-guarded at all hours of the day, with the Guard's Barracks just outside the gates.
- The Merchant Ward is located toward the north of the city, by the most busy gate. It's divided into two squares - East and West - and holds most of the city's shops, as well as several inns and taverns.
- The Upper Ward directly surrounds the Royal Ward and the Pius Ward. It's home to the upper class, the wealthiest merchants and politicians, as well as the oldest families in the city.
- The Lower Ward takes up much of the area of the city closest to the wall, especially on the eastern side. The poorest people live closest to the wall, while more middle class citizens are able to live deeper into the city.
- The Pius Ward is located near both the Royal Ward and the Upper Ward, and is home to the various temples present in the city. The largest temple here is dedicated to Lathander, but there is also a large temple to Illmater as well as other deities.
- The Port Ward is located on the shores to the Therium Depths. Docks are available for ships to anchor at. There are also several inns and taverns, as well as homes for the fishers and sailors here.
