Royal Family of Therium

History

Rebellion and Establishment of Therium

When the Humans rebelled against the Elves and Dwarves, the rebellion was led by charismatic and well-loved Cyn. However, when it came time to establish a government to organize the new kingdom, it seemed that the woman didn't desire a title or power. The masses urged her to continue leading, but she gracefully stepped aside and ceded the title to her second-in-command, Gaius Verulus.   Gaius Verulus was a good friend to Cyn. He was a humble and trustworthy man, as well as an incredible asset militarily and strategically to the rebellion. While most people wanted Cyn to lead, they were able to accept him as the current leader. In fact, many called for the marriage of the two, but Cyn politely declined. Still, the two continued to be close friends, up until her death.

Family Crest

The crest of the Verulus family depicts two knights facing each other. In their right hands they hold swords, with shields in their left hands. Their right arms, holding the swords, are outstretched such that the swords are crossed in the middle of the crest. Beneath the swords, in the distance, is the sun cresting over a hill. Beneath the crest is the family's motto: Simul autem resurgemus.

Current Royal Family

King Hostus Accius Verulus came into power as an adult after his father passed away peacefully. He was already married to his wife Dexia, who was a daughter of the Caldus Family, one of the oldest families in Therium. Ever since the beginning of his rule, Hostus and Dexia were well-loved by their people. They were a handsome couple, and generally very welcoming and open about their policies and regulations. The only controversial decision that they have made was the decision to continue the strict regulation of magic - a regulation that began so long ago. Just a year after coming to power, Queen Dexia gave birth to the first male heir of the family, Prince Quintus Mallius Verulus.
