Signus (Cig-Nus)

The Pearlescent Moon. The furthest moon from Sitgaus is seen very rarely. The moon is quoted as the last moon of Sitagus as its Ascension with the myth of creation, establishing that was the final act of creating Sitagus. Visible in the night sky every other day, Signus acts like an anomaly within the night sky, either appearing as a full moon or not appearing at all.

Geography

An icy and sandy desert with plains, mountains, craters and valleys. Remnants of plant life are scattered across the surface but mostly barren with its rocky exterior. All water present on the moon has frozen over on the surface if not all the way through to the bottom. These frozen lakes are a marvel as their surface perfectly reflects images like a mirrored surface. These ice mirrors can sometimes catch glimpses of the ethereal plane when the moon is not visible in Sitagus' sky.   The sandy deserts are paradoxically humid instead of arid. Due to the humidity, the sand acts more like beach sand than the drier sands of the desserts on Sitagus. When sandstorms kick up in these areas the sand in the air clumps together creating mudball-like projectiles. With the light colour of the sand and the sand clumping up in a sandstorm the visibility within these storms restricts most senses to the immediate surroundings.

Localized Phenomena

Signus is bursting with magical energy as its core is magically charged. The moon will expel the gathered magic from the surface several times a month in bursts. These bursts magically disrupt magic that comes into contact with it, similar to a solar flare. The magical energy also leeches from the surface, creating and imbuing storms with magic and wildmagic. The magic seeps into the ice on the planet giving its mirror-like qualities and the ice's ability to glimpse into the ethereal plane.   While the mages on Sitagus cannot predict when these magical energies will emanate from Signus itself, some will estimate when it will happen with decent accuracy. These mages can then try and tap into the magic escaping the moon and attempt to infuse it into items for enchantment with a ritual known as Etherweave Infusion, combining both sealing and enchantment schools of magical practice. These energies are very volatile when condensed in this manner and can become catastrophically destructive if not handled correctly.

Climate

The moon is a temperate climate leaning towards colder temperatures, with the geographic poles completely frozen over. Thunder snow and ice storms regularly coat the landscape of the colder areas in a thick sheet of ice very quickly. Winds on the moon vary from a light breeze to gales whipping up blizzards and sandstorms in their respective areas. These storms can be magically charged causing disturbances in magical activities and effects, the more violent storms can develop into a wildmagic storm.

Natural Resources

Minerals in the moon are spread out equally among the planetary body in similar ratios to Stiagus, the planet it revolves around.

History

Signus was the last moon the Gods to grace the skies of Sitgus with. With its creation, the Gods then created a race of Aasimar, called the Lunari, to inhabit this moon tasked with a responsibility of celestial importance. Many on Sitgus talk about the people on the moon as myth as no one from Sitagus has ever made contact with the moon.
