Perfection and Pioneers

The wealth of mineral goods in the Dragon lands has led them to become master craftsmen of metal and precious stones. While their best craftsman might not quite measure up to the best of the Owl clan, they have much readier access to the high-quality raw materials needed to learn and practice the craft.

Thus, while an ideal marriage of man and material might be an Owl blacksmith working with Dragon steel, in practice it is easier to find a Dragon sword from a Dragon blacksmith that works just as well. Only the most particular (and richest) swordsmasters of the Wolf clan can notice and pay for the difference.

The tremendous variety and novelty of the Dragon lands has also given rise to a healthy population of explorers and experimenters in the Dragon populace. Even if they cannot always access the magic of their land, the unique resources and minerals that are so easily found can be combined and altered for a variety of energetic reactions and results (some even beneficial).

This experimentation does not ease the fears other clans harbor towards the Dragon, but those experimenting usually care less about the opinions of others than even the typical Dragon. In general, if something needs to be done that has never been conceived of before, or that the other clans might not do, it is not difficult to find a Dragon willing to try.
