Varnshall

Varnshall takes its name from the Elk word for herd leader, as it is the closest equivalent to a Wolf jarl.

Varnshall features an unusual number of gatehouses in its walls, and said gatehouses are unusually wide and accomodating. This allows Elk herds to come thundering in from any direction at any time. The vast majority of Varnshall is dedicated to farming: the land is as soft and warm as can be found in the Sjonderwold, and the Norlegg River provides ample water for irrigation.

This bounty means that Varnshall has the highest population of Wolf outside of their own lands, and the Wolf inhabitants are some of the most prosperous and well-to-do outside of Fridulfsburg. The interior of the Varnshall boasts a staggering array of shops, taverns, inns, public houses, and brothels, far more than the nominal population of the farmers around the city could support. These establishments exist to support the presence of Elk herds that come through to trade, barter, drink, and mingle with other herds and other clans.

A quirk of location and tribal culture has resulted in Varnshall becoming the home of a strange sport unique in the Sjonderwold: wave riding.
