Fridulfsburg
The most prominent city of the lands, and indeed (as they would claim) of all of the Sjonderwold, lies at the feet of the citadel that lends the city its name: Fridulfsburg. The Citadel of Steel has never fallen to the hands of an enemy, and no Wolf jarl will be the first to let it slip.
The city of Fridulfsburg has also grown with the years. Wolf jarls have expanded the city's power and glory until it became the shining hall it is to this day, but few if any can remember who it was that oversaw its original construction. Distinct districts for each of the five major clans have been laid out according to their needs, and according to the desires of the Wolf jarl to keep an eye on the clan leaders.
The other clans have varied in their attitude towards and approach to this nominal gesture of hospitality and diplomacy, but rarely do they treat it with the seriousness the Wolf give it.
The Bear typically send the largest, fattest, and slowest advisor they can find, whose torpor and genial nature is unmatched in its ability to drive Wolf jarls into screaming fits of frustration.
The Dragon always send a charming and educated diplomat, exactly as the Wolf jarls asks; but as the Dragon delight in innuendo, doublespeak, and implication, a Wolf has better luck getting a straight answer out of the Owl seer.
The Elk send the oldest member they can find amongst the herds. Not only does this alleviate the burden of dragging them behind the rest of the herd, it gives the elder plenty of opportunity to grouse and grumble and complain about the good old days.
The Owl invariably send a seer who speaks in riddles and evasive wordplay, always able to twist words into nonsense and put conversations on their heads.
The Raven clan, for their part, delight in being frustratingly unavailable. Their representative will wander the streets and public houses of Fridulfsburg as usual, converting their designated longhouse into a stable for their horses and a workshop for their wagons.

Clan Districts
In order to maintain official connections with the other clans, jarls of ages past have devoted a portion of Fridulfsburg to housing clan representatives. Each district features at its center a fine longhouse the senior advisor in residence. This ensures that the advisors are never so far from the Wolf jarl that their activities cannot be closely tracked, and that they are always close at hand to deliver the Wolf jarl’s proclamations to the other clans. The other clans have varied in their attitude towards and approach to this nominal gesture of hospitality and diplomacy, but rarely do they treat it with the seriousness the Wolf give it.

Urban Sprawl
Beyond the clan centers, the sprawl of urban life spreads thick inside the stone walls that ring the city. As all the Tithes and all the heads of clan must report to Fridulfsburg, there is great demand for all sorts of goods and services. The markets here are some of the greatest in the Sjonderwold, rivaled by only those in Fossning and Varnshall.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
