Coat of the First Ruler of the Skies
Located in a neglected part of the old royal mausoleum. This room contains a shrine to First Ruler of the Skies or First Pirate King. Within it is the preserved raiment and effects of the First Pirate King. It contained their famous hat, sword, sash, and pistols. The most important and recognizable piece however, was their red captain's coat.
The coat hung to their knees with an array of buttons down the front. Its cuffs were wide and buttoned back. Their coat was made up of three layers: the outer layer with its red dyed (damask or some type of leather), an inner layer of dragon scaled mail, and an inner most layer of Fire Moth silk. The buttons were created out of _ horn. Surprisingly thin for what it was made out of. It has beautiful and intricate embroidery work themed on an aerofauna. Rising wings take up most of the back in a gold color. The tails of the coat are mildly torn. Some spots of damage appear here and there on the rest. The red of the _(some type of leather or textile) has faded with time. The coat is remarkably well preserved otherwise.
This coat was made for the First Ruler of the Skies. It was made near the end of the Waking War, then given to them as a gift by a close friend. Worn through the end of the Waking Wars and after. Only hung up when the First Pirate King retired. Whilst still worn, it was mainly ashore or for negotiations with other parties. During the day-to-day drudgery it would be left hung up in the captain's quarters.
At the time it was made the coat would have been an expensive and exhausted effort. It would have been created by a collaborative effort from artisans of different disciplines working together. The materials were, and still are, high end and rare. This rarity makes them difficult to work with, so only masters would have been commissioned.
