The Red Flower Clan of the Kinari follows a strict honor code. Most of the greatest warriors of the species have their origin in this clan and many of the generals of the Confederation of Kinary are Red Flower Kinari. They are one of the founding clans of the Confederation of Kinary.

Appearence

Do not fear them, young one. They may look dangerous, but they are fair and good rulers if you obey the laws.

Many describe the Red Flower Clan as the most demonic, dangerous-looking Kinari. They have red fur with white bellies. Their tails are often in deeper red with white tips. The eyes of the Red Flower Clan are either red or black. Muscles and visible readiness for any fight are strong characteristics for them. It is visible that they put as much weight on their bodies as for their magic. Many of them are rather tall and agile.

The old myth tells us that their red fur color comes from all the blood that their clan has shed. It is naturally only a myth, as many clans, the Red Flower Clan can proudly say that their ancestor was transformed by Goldie Kitsune herself and was reborn with this fur color.

Behavior

The Red Flower Clan members are straightforward with their words and behavior. They dislike deception and avoid using tricks, as they trust in their tactical thinking as well as the strength of their own and their followers. Honor and fairness are high values for them. They will bring themselves into a disadvantageous situation if honor requires it of them. But they also expect this honorful behavior from their enemies, as well as their followers and members of their clan. Everyone who denies honorable behavior, using tricks, lies, or breaking clear laws is punished heavily.

As stated by the potential criminal, Joseph Kazum, he misunderstood the complex law and did not want to disturb the peace of this forest. I hereby rule that his punishment will be mild with two months of extra work shifts. I also hereby rule that the Kinri of the Golden Tails clan must rewrite the law to be easier to understand for all our less educated people.

The Red Flower Clan has a strict and easy-to-understand honor codex. Those that break it, are often banished or killed.

1. Do not lie. Always speak the truth.
2. Do not be cruel. If you end a life, do it quickly and without causing unnecessary pain.
3. Do not be a bad host. Treat these under you well and fairly, including your prisoners.
4. Do not let a crime be unpunished, no matter how small.
5. Do not bow to these without honor.

As rulers in the Confederation of Kinary, they prefer strategic positions, such as fortresses in passes of mountains, or strategic military ports. Most units of the military are ruled by Kinari of their clan, and they expect all younglings to serve in the army as a rite to be accepted as an adult. The Red Flower Clan is famous for its meritocratic way of assigning positions. They do not take the one they like most, or the one that comes from a high family. Instead, they always will pick the best suited for any position under themselves. In times of crisis, they are not such weak-willed to deny a good argument from others just because of arrogance. If someone has a better idea than themselves, then they will follow it.

There are two fields of magic where the Kinari of this clan are exceptional: Fire and Enchantment. Both are mostly used during close melee fights or typically in their daily lives. In direct fights, they will use enchantment equipment, as well as short-term enchantment magic on themselves and their soldiers, as well as close explosions with their fire magic. Outside of fights, they are famous for their talents in smithing enchanted equipment by using their two strong magic fields. It is expected of a Red Flower Kinari to always have her weapon ready and well-repaired. It is also expected that she does this herself without relying on the help of others.

History

The clan traces back its history to Aphalia Khan, a member of a nomadic elf culture that is lost in history. She was transformed by the goddess Goldie Kitsune as a gift after helping her out during a long journey. Aphalia and her daughters served the goddess as her mouths, as all knew that members of the Red Flower Clan never spoke lies and only the truth. With the start of the great War of the Gods, the clan joined the armies of the Queendom Goddesses against the human armies of Lia. During the war, many members of this clan died, including Aphalia. Nevertheless, they were soon known as great warriors and capable leaders of armies. They were at the frontlines of the war and paid with their blood.
After the war, the clan had an identity crisis. There were nearly no members left who were born before the war. All they knew was the war, the fights, the will to win, and yet, with the isolation of the Sylvan Lands, the war was lost. The clan lost its contact with the goddess and began to leave the nest. They formed tribes, often led by an especially strong warrior, and continued their war against the newly formed Theocracy of Atlantis. It was clear that they could not win a full-out war, so they concentrated on less defended places, island chains, and trade routes. Many of these tribes were enslaved or killed during the following centuries by the dark goddess Lia.
With the collapse of Atlantis in 500 BC, they finally saw their chance. Under Mai Khan, a great-great-great-granddaughter of Aphalia, most tribes joined together and formed the Red Flower Clan anew. They began a series of conquests and used the instability of the following millennia for themselves. They were soon joined by the Golden Tail Clan and together with the White Silence Clan, they eventually founded the Confederation of Kinary. Today, most members of this clan live in this nation.
