The Hives

Within nature social creatures such as Bees, Dolphins and Humans form collectives where they gather together to help share resources', protect each other as well as find a place to make companions. For Bee's this is their nest, Wolves have packs and Humans have cities. Chimera have Hives, these Hives are large hidden communities around the world with at least one on every continent often being hidden underground, inside mountains or is secluded valley's.

The largest hives around found in Australia, Brazil, China, Canada, Egypt and Russia. The oldest Hive is in Egypt known as the Per Ankh Hive or the House of Life Hive, this Hive was founded by a Chimera with the complex of the Threskiornis aethiopicus (The Sacred Ibis) known only in the records as Thoth, this Hive acts as one of the major Hives in the world being more like a library than anything else with vast halls of ancient tombs and labs through out. Rumours say their original Hive was known as the Lighthouse of Alexanderia but was moved after a group of humans discovered the Chimera and attempted to burn the Hive.

Travel between the Hives isn't easy, while the Hives have much more advanced technology then humanity they are still drastically outnumbered so can't take risks traveling by ordinary means. The Hives own many companies such as Air Plane lines or international boats, this makes them the only secure way for Chimera with more obvious traits to travel between Hive's safely. Chimera who can more easily pass as fully human can travel in more ways using trains, cars and other forms of transport but must take care to hide their Complex.

Many Hives are similar to University towns or cities, being focused around a university and students. However nearly every Hive as a full town working around from spas to cafes to bars to doctors to high streets. Within Hives everyone has a role, this can range from working as a cleaner to a professor to a bartender. Within the Hive as long as you preform you roll to the best of your ability you are generally respected, those who simply let the Hive work for them and not do anything of significance are normally looked down upon. With the new boost of Chimera's due to jungle juice many Hives have rapidly expanded in the last few years, Chimera whose complex don't handle the natural environment of the Hive are normally sent to Hives with more favourable conditions if they would like to.
