Chauntee

The Wild Mother

Chauntee is the Halfling god of Nature and the wild, both in tamed agriculture and dangerous haunted forests. The Chief God of Nature and member of the Dios Major She is also represented by decay in the natural sense and has lead to some orders of grave clerics who seek to keep natures natural cycles.   In the Edren Creation myth she turned the barren hills of the Heartlind into a healthy fertile meadow so none would starve at Edra's request.

History

Chauntee originated as a twin goddess of nature specifically for wild growth in Halfling culture, but eventually became fused with her sister the goddess of agriculture. Chauntee has several druid orders such as the Emerald Order, and several Paladin orders. She has become more humanized and the near monotheistic deity of The Grand Dutchy of Aragon, and one of the two popular gods of Kingdom of Leon. In Aragon she has taken on the domain of War, being a nationalistic idol in Aragon.

Tenets of Faith

Worshipers are charged to create groves allowed to be wild and uncultivated land. Gardens are expected and any church to her is required to have twice the land of the church as a wild grove. The Flower is her symbol for worshipers and farmers often keep a shrine to her.   In The Grand Dutchy of Aragon massive gardens and parks are made in honor and competitions over flower growths are comon. Here too are the many organizations of paladins and knights in her service where Chauntee has developed a honor connection, becoming a goddess of virtue along with growth, and a marker of civility.
