Chanda Survival Training Mission

The Chanda Survival Training Mission, often shortened to the CS Training Mission, is a training mission given to the elite military units of the Galactic Coalition's Military before they graduate from their training. The mission’s purpose is to prepare the training cadets for extreme weather conditions, specifically freezing weather conditions, as well as to test their teamwork skills. The Mission is Pass-Fail with those that fail the mission needing to redo it at a later date.

Organization

The Mission Consists of a group of cadets (often a unit that has been going through all their training together) being left in the middle of nowhere on Chanda with a basic survival kit and an emergency beacon, and having to make their way back to Chanda Moon Base. The Emergency beacon is used by the people running the mission to be able to locate the cadets if need be and for the cadets to be able to end the mission if the need arises.   The Cadets are also observed by cameras and drones that record their movements and strategies so that their teachers can give them feedback once they finish the assignment. These recordings may be studied by other cadets or by researchers who want to learn about survival strategies and behaviors.

Grading

As stated earlier, the mission is Pass-Fail, with the mission being required in order for a cadet to finish their training and graduate.   If any of the cadets, fail the mission the whole group is failed (unless it is otherwise decided) and they must redo it at a later date. If a cadet fails too many times they may be discharged from elite military training or the military as a whole.   The Outcome of the mission, as in whether the group passes or fails, is determined by the teachers who are observing the cadet group and taking notes on their behavior and performance. They are graded on their speed, survival skills, teamwork, and conduct with the latter two being part of why this mission is so important as it tells how the cadets will react in a survival situation.
