Nanosian is a term used to talk about the culture of the Nanosian species native to Nanos. It is not used normally to talk about the human colonists on the planet.

They also utilized squeaks and calls as well as echolocation to communicate.

Gift-giving is an important part of Nanosian culture due to the fact that they do not have a currency system, rather they use a trading system with people trading goods are services in return for things. They also have a gift-giving system where people exchange goods and gifts as a way of developing rapport and respect between the two parties as well as a way of showing respect and wealth.
This system is known by the Coalition due to the exchanges of gifts between coalition researchers and the native Nanosians.
