Andromedan Collective
The Andromedan Collective is the Second-largest country in the known universe, spanning over 36% of the Andromeda galaxy. It holds firm control of more than 100 star systems with tens of thousands more in its sphere of influence and within reach of its navy. It was founded in the year 2517 when the first rebellion in Andromeda managed to overthrow the local government of Nova Kairo and eventually defeated the Imperial Garrision stationed on the planet. Currently, the Andromedan Collective is a federation of various human and alien nations united under a single banner for protection against the Terran Empire. It has a total population of just shy of 1,347 triliion beings.
Demography and Population
Andromeda's population is vastly more nuanced and diverse than that of the Empire due to the Collective being a federation of various races. Humans make up about 24% of the population, while the rest is comprised almost exclusively of humanoid alien races. Collective's population in numbers looks a little something like this:

Military
Armed Forces of the Collective (esp. Armitaj Fortoj de la Kolektivo, par. Asenale Mitra an po Wir'aan) is the federal military of the Collective. It is an army made up mostly of conscripts, with less than 40% being comprised of professional soldiers and crewmen. Despite that, the main strength of the AFC is its sheer size, with more than 19 billion of active personel.
Every man and woman that comes of age and doesn't continue education is eligible for draft and has to complete 3 years of military service. Not every person is drafted though, as the economy of the Collective isn't strong enough to support army of that size. Despite that, every person is eligible to be drafted at any point in their adult life, even if only for 60 days of training every 3 years.
Marine Corps of the Collective
The Marine Corps of the Collective is the second-largest branch of the AFC, with 6 billion of active military personel it is capable of protecting most of the territory in direct control of the Collective. It is modeled after the Imperial Marine Corps and was restructured in its image shortly after the First Intergalactic War, where Imperial Marines crippling damage on Collective's infantry units for the duration of the war. However, these efforts seem to not be enough, as Imperial Marines are still vastly superior to their Andromedan counterparts. It is due to this fact that Collective's Marines are meant to stay within Andromeda and besiege systems only with full orbital superiority.
Federal Navy of the Collective
The Federal Navy of the Collective is the largest branch of the AFC, with around 11 billion of active military personel. Sporting more than 423,000 vessels, it is the largest navy in the known universe. Though it is not technologically on par with the Imperial Navy, the skill of the Andromedans and the tactical genius of their admiralty board makes them a formidable foe that is a force to be reckoned with. FNC follows a fleet-in-being doctrine and utilises its sheer size and smart positioning to minimize their technological shortfalls. Demography of the Collective works in its favour, as different races approach the doctrine of the navy differently, allowing for greater flexibility among the top brass, and unpredictability to the enemy.

The Federal Guard is a volunteer-only wing of the AFC and has manpower of around 1 billion. The Federal Guard's tasks revolve around recon operations and all sorts of other special operations required by the modern battlefield.

The Collective, being a loose federation, does not have a solid and expansive central legal system. Very few laws are imposed on a federal level, with most of them referring to the military and basic rights of the citizens.
