GR 09: Caverns of the Thrau

In an effort to destroy the pact between the Witch Evanchoris and the Thrau Queen Lo’tinthlai, the Questing Party made another effort to confront the leaders of the Thrau empire on their own ground. Teleported directly to the subcontinent of Aitharac by Teroth Eamarilth, the party entered the subterranean cavern cities of the Thrau. In heavy continuous combat against powerful foes, the party made their way behind enemy lines to the capital city of the Thrau empire, rescuing the spy Tarect, who had been held prisoner there for political insurrection. In the final conflict, the party challenged and overcame the demonic forces of the Thrau Empress.
OUTSIDE GAME-TIME: It had long been established that Reneslar and Tarect were half-brother/sister, born to the same father, Lord Marshal Taracnar, who had often journeyed in Thrau lands.
MEMORABLE MOMENTS: This adventure was the highest-powered campaign ever offered. Most characters and opponents were level 10 or above, with great ethereal power. For example, Lady Eamarilth actually called down a meteor storm to eliminate the draconian guardian creatures which were preventing the party’s access to the Thrau caverns. Another spectacular moment was at the very end, when Lord Marshal Reneslar slew the spider-queen Empress Lo’tinth-lai with a single arrow shot from his bow — a legitimate critical hit roll!
