GR 29: Düergun Digression

During the War of the Witch, in the upper ranges of the Barrier Mountains, there was a small silver mine named D’runan Dum (Runan’s Cavern). The miners had a steady arrangement to trade silver with the town of Becon's Crossing (at the time, silver was in high demand, since the Witch Evanchoris employed fell creatures that could only be slain by silver).   When the miners did not appear with their regular shipment, master silversmith Goden suspected that they had begun selling their silver directly to Diahrzab, leaving the people of Becon’s Crossing without a provider. So Goden arranged for a party of armed traders to go negotiate a new deal with the miners. When they arrived, however, the party found the mine had been captured and occupied by the Witch’s Thrau and Gremin forces. They were able to break in, defeat the aggressors, and eventually rescue the surviving miners.   MEMORABLE MOMENTS: The campaign featured detailed area floor plans designed by the DM in full color, for use with miniatures. This was the first time printed original floor plans were used to completely map a dungeon setting.   OUTSIDE GAME-TIME: This was the first adventure run with a greatly simplified rule-system, since all the players were new to the SpiritQuest game. The scenario was originally imagined as a single session game; but since the characters did not get far, and the players wanted to continue, it became an ongoing campaign.   This campaign was rebooted in 2022 with new players, continuing in a new campaign.
