Hi! Fashion

Hi! Fashion is a popular brand of clothing from the Federation of Like Minded States that specializes in cheap t-shirts, shorts, skirts, and other casual clothing. The company employs a lot of bright colors and designs with bold patterns and text.

Hi! is primarily marketed at the younger market and is viewed as being more controversial and pushing new ideas into the market.

Hi! Fashion carries some androgynous clothing, but a majority of their customers are female.

History

Hi! Fashion was started by Cornelius Gates of Hardpot Industrial. He however had next to nothing to do with the design or marketing.

Gates' main concern was profit. To make money in the clothing industry you either need to sell the clothes for more money, or produce the clothes at a lower expense. Cornelius Gates chose the latter and demanded his designers to make clothing that...

a. Used less fabric

b. Used cheaper fabric

c. Needed less cuts and stitching

The new clothes had to be produced faster and cost less in raw materials. Viola Chambers was the designer that answered these demands.

Viola was put in charge of the design and marketing of this new Hardpot subsidiary. She came up with the brand name 'Hi!' in an attempt to make the brand seem more inviting to the younger crowd.

To keep the amount of fabric used to a minimum, the brand would specialize in clothing much more revealing than any other company on the market. This would require a public campaign to push back against the social norms in the Federation of Like Minded States and eventually the rest of the world.

Viola is vilified by highly conservative groups as being the woman behind brining 'immodest' clothing to the Federation. Her marketing campaign using flirtatious images and suggestive slogans, however, was a hit among the youth.

In the advertising, the company name 'Hi!' is commonly followed by some sort of pickup line and features attractive individuals in their 20s at locations like bars. (Prohibition of alcohol is still a thing in the Federation)

Viola won a lot of respect inside Hardpot Industries for her marketing skills and ability to hide the companies cheap nature with a fashion revolution.
