Commander Taylor Hobbs

First officer aboard the U.S.S. Electra, Commander Taylor Hobbs is a fierce leader and staunch defender of the Federation's values. They have previously served aboard 3 space stations (Starbases 33, 142, and 230) as well as the U.S.S. Carina. Their leadership style focuses around self-empowerment and independent action, ideals not appreciated among many who desire bland, obedient crew. They were often known to have said, "It's better to ask for forgiveness than permission." As an officer, they were known to ignore Starfleet regulations for the greater good if necessary and would often look the other way when others did the same. While unorthodox, these tendencies lead to above average success rates and popularity with their crew. Taylor Hobbs was born in 2334 to Starfleet parents on medical leave. They grew up aboard the U.S.S. Ganymede with their parents and 4 siblings, but never served on it. Following in the steps of their older siblings, Hobbs attended Starfleet Academy and excelled both academically and interpersonally. They practiced tirelessly in hand-to-hand combat as a devout member (and eventually president) of the Junior Officer's Martial Arts Club. Hobbs graduated in 2346 and was assigned to Starbase 33 as an ensign. Hobbs demonstrated a knack for investigative deduction when he assisted Commander Ludo Wraith with combating a massive Ferengi arms smuggling scheme. After weeks of investigating, Hobbs went undercover as a potential buyer, hoping to catch the Ferengi red-handed. Unfortunately, the sting operation went arry and Hobbs was captured. While the captors were arguing about what to do with them, Hobbs managed to sneak away and send an emergency communication to Wraith informing him of their location. Additionally, they backed up large masses of stolen documents detailing communications with a mole in station security. After a tense fight, and the consolidation of data, Hobbs and Wraith expunged the smuggling ring from the station. After this time, Hobbs bounced from one assignment to the other until they were promoted to lieutenant and stationed aboard the Carina. It was during this time that they worked closely with Lianne Marcus on various matters of ship security and wartime operations. Hobbs' in-it-to-win-it attitude made them an ideal partner for the morally ambiguous Marcus and the two of them saw their careers flourish during this time. When Marcus was given command of the U.S.S. Electra, Hobbs joined as her first officer.
