Doctor Gaaath To'kri
A clam, colleted, and generally serene individual, Doctor Gaaath To'kri will be the first to challenge the assumption that Klingon doctors are subpar, inefficient, or lacking when compared to their Human and Vulcan counterparts. Despite deep seated stygmatism against his kind, To'kri is an excellent physician, a top class medical scientist, and an exemplary Starfleet officer. Unlike most other positions, medical assignments are not rated where one ship is more prestigious than another. Instead, doctors are assigned based on preference, but also based on where and how they are needed. Any physician assigned to an exploration ship will always be top class, regardless of the vessel.
Born into a renowned warrior class family, To'kri (62) was always expected to be a champion fighter like his brothers and sisters. However, due to a twist in fate, he was born very ill and grew slowly as a child. Even today, though he stands over 2 meters tall and muscular, he will claim that he is the runt of the litter. Because of this lack of fortune, To'kri was bullied as a child and was made to believe he would never be able to fight. As a result, he was forced to take up a profession less honorable. After trying his hand at several base working careers, he spent time volunteering at the Ho'doa Municiple Hospital where he became enamored with healing.
After spending most of his childhood and early adult life interning and eventually attending formalized medical school, To'kri decided to take his education abroad and study xenology. To achieve this he enlisted in Starfleet Academy as a medial officer. Because of his extensive training, he was able to graduate in a mere 13 months, skipping almost all of the required medical courses. He gained a reputation for being a Klingon like no other as he was quiet and introspective as opposed to the more socially bombastic Klingons that most Starfleet personel have the good fortune to meet.
To'kri graduated from the academy and was assigned to the Kanaloa, an Asimov-class exploration vessel. As an ensign, he suffered from rampant prejudice. However, the chief medical officer saw promise in his delicate work and supported him through his early career. At the recommendation of his superior, he was promoted twice on this mission, eventually becomming a lieutenant after only 4 years. He stayed aboard the Kanaloa for nearly a decade longer before being promoted to chief medical officer aboard the U.S.S. Freedom. He served through many adventures with that crew for almost 2 decades. After a short stint aboard a California-class (no link needed, not an important class) he was transfered to the U.S.S. Electra where he curently serves.
