Mandalorians

Warrior Mercenaries

A tight-knit communal group comprised of warriors from various races, the Mandalorians are a group unified by creed and the bonds made during battle. A nomadic clan-based people, they often congregate on the world of Mandalore in order to train new recruits and hone their craft to perfection. An honor-bound militaristic people, they view battle as the crucible from which society grows and becomes stronger. Any member of any race may join their ranks, given that they follow the path of the warrior and prove themselves upon one of the many sacred battlegrounds on Mandalore.

History

Originally a tribal people who often warred with each other on the face of Mandalore, their internal warring came to an end when faced with an attempted conquest by another race thousands of years ago. Quickly defeating the first waves, the Mandalorians succesfully reverse engineered their technology, providing them with their first steps into the galaxy beyond. Completely eradicating the race from history, the Mandalorians quickly solidified their claim on the system and fiercely protected their borders.

Tense friction along their borders eventually led to a war between Mandalorians and Jedi, leading to a centuries long war that ended with mass casualties on both sides. Stories of fierce battles between the two helped to solidify the reputation of Mandalorians across the galaxy as one of the most fearsome groups in the galaxy. While powerful individuals, their nomadic nature and disdain for passive occupations have kept them from expanding to become a dominant faction in the galaxy.

Relations

Czerka Corporation - Less than inspired by those who work as merchants and bankers, mandalorians don't often interact with czerka unless hired on as contractors. Having seen the Czerka's actions for the past few decades, Mandalorians often are wary about the company due to their treacherous history. Recently however, with the work done by the new CEO - more mercenaries have decided to try working for them again due to the large amount of credits they can make.

Dantooine Force Institute - Due to their violent history with Jedi in the past, Mandalorians aren't too keen on those who dedicate their life to learning the ways of the force. While not hostile in any way, they do keep an eye on the potential action of the institute and watch for any members that come close to their borders. It has been note though, that some institute students have gone on to join the Mandalorians after graduating - seeking to master both physical and spiritual prowess on the battlefield.

The Exchange - While often hired by the Exchange as extra protection for certain sensitive enterprises, the relationship is tense due to the underhanded ways of many Exchange thugs. Many lower-level gang bosses attempt to climb the ladder by hiring Mandalorians to get the job done and try to save their coin by getting rid of them once the job is done. While sometimes successful, this more often leads to the Exchange needing replace deceased members. The few who are wise enough not to mess with seasoned warriors, often keep one or two on the payroll as bodyguards to ensure their underlings don't get any bright ideas.

Hutt Cartel - A main source of income for many Mandalorian families, the Hutts often hire Mandalorians in bulk due to their high rate of success and their honor-bound ideology, a virtue seldom found from those within their circles. Their relationship is a strong one as the cartels are wise enough to never consider reneging or failing to pay a contract, a gruesome fate that often awaits those who think they can double-cross a Mandalorian.

Ithorian Restoration League - An organization with an ideology in stark contrast to their own, many Mandalorians have a severe distaste for those within the IRL. Some Mandalorians even go as far as taking jobs to sabotage their projects in an attempt to provoke hostile actions from them. Several skirmishes have occured between Mandalorian squads and the fanatical splinter cells that have taken a more violent approach to saving the environment.

Sith Empire - As a mercenary group, Mandalorians are frequently employed when this government wishes to perform behind enemy lines off-the-books operations. Due to their honed martial skills and background in fighting force users, they are perfect for taking out auxiliaries trained in the ways of the force. By the nature of mercenary life, while honor-bound to taken contracts they hold no actual allegiance to this group once the mission has been completed.
