Darkshines 04: "One Way Trigger"

General Summary

While headed toward the harbor, Phoebe sees a hallucination of Clarisse. The party finds Matoi and Dr. Toyama's cat Vesta running from Siliconians, and fights to save them. After the GUSF drops the party their mechs, Basile Lorieux instructs Phoebe to find the Siliconian superordinate leading the attack on Issoire and destroy it. Clarisse advises Phoebe to take Jean with her. After sensing the superordinate near Base Militaire du Lys, the party enters inside, with the gathered Siliconians ignoring them.   In the base, the party finds a hive that was already active for the purpose of manufacturing Exotic Matter. After finding Dr. Toyama, he distributes the little anti-parsitic drugs he has, leaving Aurora and Davion without a dose. The party learns more details of the Temporavox project, and comes to suspect that a prototype lives in Vesta. Désirée begins to suspect her sister was sold into Clarisse's Siliconian parasite mind control program and killed.   After the party collects Dr. Toyama, they charge the superordinate, which teleports them all aboard the Siliconian fleet's cloaked Hive Sovereign, along with Vesta. After contacting Basile to inform her of the ship's location, she fires upon it, and the party is only saved by the ship's Solari shielding. Chasing the superordinate and Vesta, the party fights to kill it, with Davion and Aurora straining to maintain control of themselves. In the wake of the battle, the Temporavox prototype is left up for grabs. Aurora tries to take it, but is killed by Dr. Toyama, who doesn't want it to be used. Phoebe takes it instead, going back in time just as Désirée kills Dr. Toyama.   Phoebe returns to the past, finding Clarisse shattered in the wake of being grifted by Tan Bohai, who stole the completed Temporavox. Phoebe averts her from a path of evil by consoling her, assuring clemency, and planning the downfall of Basile. Returning the present, the party is scattered to the stars, with Clarisse's plot and the Siliconian attack on Issoire averted.
