Hysteria 01: "I Appear Missing"
General Summary
In late may of 2621, Hinata Shinkawa arrives at Nova Base, undergoing a number of piloting and medical tests. Upon being accepted into basic training, Hinata meets his roommates Ludo Lepidus, Ruben Zulueta, and Niko Krakowski, and begins a grueling training regimen. At the PX, he writes a letter to his sister, Mitsuru, and later meets exchanges words with Tak Hye-Su.
After an unnerving meeting with Celestine Lachapelle in which she seemed to read Hinata's mind, he plots with Ludo to steal the engine from a GUSF mech he saw near the Galactic Oasis. Before a meeting with Reyna Canas, one of the pilots who saved his life from the Black Sun Syndicate, Hinata sees Celestine, Torsten Ahlander, and Tak engaging in unauthorized fraternization.
During a heartfelt and awkward conversation with Reyna, a gunman attacks, leaving her paralyzed and Hinata wounded. Waking from disturbing dreams, Hinata is reunited with former classmate Louise Michaud, who helps bandage him. He learns of Tsutsumi Hano, the so called "Shingami" who held Hinata's dog tag numbers before him.
