ST2600 1: "Beginning of the End"
General Summary
On January 5th of the year 2600, Edgar, Annabelle, Zhilan, and Eve find themselves tasked by Cydonia Manufacturing's Anita Romana to uncover a potential threat to Synchronicity. After a teambuilding dinner and karaoke with managers Nicole Nikolaou and Lyra Holland, the investigation begins in earnest, with a breach in physical security being pinpointed by Eve to December 17th, the circumstances of which threaten to incriminate Edgar and his manager Nicole.
After warning Nicole and using an alibi to clear himself of suspicion, Edgar joins up with Annabelle to investigate a number of cybersecurity vulnerabilities, leading them to uncover a hole in Cydonia's network created during the December 17th breach. Amid a growing sense of discontentment with the circumstances of the initiative, the party traces network traffic to a group of amateur Purity Gangers based out of Northside, eliminating the threat and finding circumstantial evidence that they were put up to gathering information from the hole, but did not create it.
Back at the office, Nicole expresses her discontentment with Eve's captivity, and Zhilan finds that Nicole is in a relationship with her sister, Daiyu Wei. The vulnerability in Cydonia's network is skillfully patched by Edgar and Annabelle, and director Adrian Holland expresses his animosity for Edgar.
