New Paris contains a number of notable locations, including Joseph Dando Memorial Spaceport, Fort Huygens, Electric Town, and its downtown and financial districts. Skyscrapers dominate the horizon in the central-southern side of the city, while the city is flatter in the north and south.Culture
The city is known for its large wealth inequality and subsequent culture clash, mainly between corporate employees and those struggling to make a living. The city is considered by some to be the VR capital of the galaxy, due to its grassroots VR hubs centered on Hotdogger's Row and the city's corporate backing of Synchronicity. The city is widely known for its many marketplaces, both legitimate and illegal, primarily in St. Denis and Electric town. The city has a notably large market for cybernetics, luxury vehicles, VR tech and computers, and software. Some gang activity within the city has been of concern to the MTL, mainly Kobayashist and anarchist groups based out of NorCen and Marais.History
New Paris has a rich history, serving as the pseudo-capital of Mars throughout the Global Union era, and served as important military base during the Siliconian war. The city experienced significant unrest in the early 23rd century until it gained independence with the rest of Mars in 2225.
