The War of the 5 Cities

An ongoing conflict between the nations of Kikkemi & Gocruz, The War of the 5 Cities began a little under three years ago.   Kikkemi initially chose to expand into territory controlled by the cities of Mandruntaig and Ulos, as their young dragonlord Neseri personally led their forces. It is said that Nesari has a hunger for battle quite uncommon in many of her copper brethren, and much of her attention has focused on the cities that serve as industrial hubs for Gocruz.   War, as it often does between dragonlords, moved slowly until last year, when Nesari was able to slay Senator Ushanti in open conflict. With their leader dead, Ulos soon capitulated to Kikkemi occupation. With Ulos at his back and Kikemi's legions in front, Senator Yoel surrendered control of Mandruntaig within a few months. While the army of Gocruz was composed of soldiers from the entire nation, unless their city was personally at risk, the Senators that lead the Republic remained in Zivund, petitioning their fellow Timathian Leauge nations for aide. After Yoel's unexpected surrender, the remaining Senators began a renewed push for help in a war they began to believe was doomed.   The Republic had always been on shaky ground within the League, as their experiment with draconic democracy wasn't exactly popular. In a clever display of statecraft, Nesari has forsworn the aid of any Platinum Union countries. not that any were eager to support her aggressive territorial claims, both economically and militarily as long as no Timathian Leauge countries provide troop or personal intervention in support of Gocruz. If 5 dragons can not defeat one, then perhaps there is no merit to their experiment.   It is unclear whether her current territorial gains satisfy Nesari, but her troops seem to be gathering on the edges of her newly acquired territory. It would strike an unexpected blow to The Timathian League if both Gocruz and Zrald were to fall in such quick succession.
