Khitu Courts

The Khitu Courts decide criminal and civil grievances.

Structure

The Khitu Courts are divided into the High Court and the Lower Courts.

The Lower Courts

There are six lower courts, each presided over by a hyvvdthin. These courts decide civil and criminal matters involving the peasantry and gentry.

The High Court

Additionally, there is the High Court, presided over by the Lord Constable, which decides civil and criminal matters involving the Bvidthu. The High Court can also be appealed to by the losing side in the lower courts, but the Lord Constable has sole discretion whether or not to hear such an appeal. As a practical matter, only two or three appeals are heard in a years' time.
