A minor member of the Bvithu - Rap Meithan - asks for help retrieving an important family heirloom of his wife's, which his mistress has taken, apparently mistaking it for a gift.   Rap also introduces them to a new member of the party, a half-elven bard named Rhapsody.

The party is summoned to the townhome of a minor member of the Bvithu named Rap Meithan. They are met there by a half-elf female bard named Rhapsody. Rap informs them that he has been having an extramarital affair and his mistress has taken a piece of heirloom jewelry belonging to his wife. He needs the party to discreetly retrieve it.   After some conversation and questioning, the party learns that Rap and his wife (Zhevvrakh Hoh) are estranged and do not live together. She was last at the house about two weeks ago for a conjugal visit, since theirs is an arranged marriage with certain attendant expectations. They also learn that Rap's mistress is an elf named Essânth of the Lantern, a mid-level diplomat at the Ãkthi Consulate. Her estate is south of town. She frequently spends extended periods of time in town at the Consulate, then takes a period of several days to rest and recuperate at her estate.   Lacking any real information upon which to operate, the party ventures to the estate, where they discover it has been raided by goblins, who have taken absolutely everything of value, as well as - apparently - several captives. The group follows the very apparent tracks across the plain. That night, whilst camping in a cave, they are attacked by a group of six goblins and a sub-chief, whom they dispatch with relative ease.   The next day, they continue until they come to the cave entrance where the goblins have established their lair. They enter, free Essânth and some of her servants, and a running battle through the lair ensues. They fight valiantly, nearly being overcome, but eventually emerging victorious without any permanent casualties. They locate the necklace, some treasure, and a letter Essânth wrote to Rap, ending their affair.   The party then returned to Vvathaf, where they returned the necklace and got paid. They also checked in at the Ãkthi Consulate where they were further rewarded by Essânth, including a bonus, which was a shirt of Elven Chain. She also indicated that they could call on her in the future, if needed.
