Bawub

Bawub was born into the Ghrash'ták Orc village, the son of an orcish warrior and a human woman. This is his story.   "I was raised harshly. Mom and dad were never home, they often left me with my retired grandmother. She resented the human side of my human heritage. She would set tasks for me to do - break this boulder and drag the piece from one end of the dirt to the other, go hunt a boar and don't come home until you kill one, fight and beat those kids that are 3-5 years older than you. If I refused, I went without supper. If I lost, I went without supper. If I won, but not easily enough? No supper. I remember always failing (lots of missed suppers) growing up, and constantly getting my ass beat and getting punished. I was afraid of everything.     "My only solace was when my dad would come home from raiding. He was stern, but kind. He taught me many things in the short time he spent with me. The most important of these, he called the Rule of Honor - never leave a friend behind.     "Eventually, he went out raiding and didn't return. When I heard he had fallen in battle, something snapped inside me. I wasn't afraid of the challenges, anymore. Instead, I welcomed them. I became obsessed with being the strongest. My cruel upbringing showed, and I was covered in scars, but that made me tough. I was muscular, and I grew tall. I left Ghrash'ták because there was nobody left to fight."
