Personal history
San always knew he was different as he grew up. Even amoung the other pirate children he was always just a little different. His mother was a very beautiful womaan who worked in the whore house on Mist Moor, and San present much the same. A unique beauty that was a favourite amoung the patrons and workers of the whore house. He was never forced into anything, just a beauty and a sweet personality.
From a young age he knew and understood what his mother did, and that his father was a pirate captain on a ship called The Reaper. Occasionally he would recieve gifts from his father, but as he aged he never saw the man. His days would be spent playing with the other kids in the streets, learning to get by in fights and stealing things here and there for a little bit of the thrill. In the evenings he would go to the shore and watch the ships coming in and heading out, before he would return to the whore house at night where he would welcome patrons, serve drinks, and learn how to usse his body to get what he wanted.
He became very adept at getting money and treats from the patrons, which he would then pass on to the workers and owners, happy to be helping them in any way that he could. It was his home, and they were his family. When he was old enough he was very discreetly offered as an options for those who were so inclined, and great care was taken to ensure his safety, though more than one person made it through he simply wanted to hurt him for allowing both men and women to take pleasure from him. San didn't mind this, it taught him more about protecting himself and avoiding being killed.
When he turned 18 his father finally returned to Mist Moor and took San out to thee ocean. He had learnt that in a deal with his mother, the first 18 years of life he was to spend on land away from the sea, after that he was free to explore the ocean and make the choice for himself. As soon as the ship left the shore San felt at home. He belonged on the water. Within weeks he knew how the ship worked, he understand the seas without need of map or tools, and he seemed to have a second sense when it came to dangerous storms.
This aided his father greatly, and they shared two good years together before the navy finally caught up with them. San could do nothing against the attack from the navy and The Reaper was quickly taken and sunk. By some twist of fate San managed to avoid being seen by the navy as he drifted by on a broken piece of ship. It was close to a week before he was found by another ship, in surprisingly good condition despite being without food or water for a week on the open ocean.
The ship he had come across was The Destiny and San was welcomed onto the ship and the crew. He learnt from Kang Yeosang that his luck with the storms stemmed from his heritage, likely his mother, as he is half Ih'araniar. While he doesnt have the same abilities as Yeosang some of the influence has made it to him giving hims ability to read the weather and the sea to an enhanced level.

Education
San never recieved a formal education in his youth learning only how to survive, use what he had to survive or get food/money, and read environments both natural and human. Once he joined his fathers ship he learnt most of the same things only on a boat. He quickly learnt how to read the ocean and the weather and how to control the ship in most situations. Due to his lack of training he was never able to raise to the roles of navigator, but he was made master helmsman aboard his fathers ship. Since joining with the black pirates he has learnt basic reading and writing and often works with the navigators to ensure their safe passage.
