Personal history
Yunho was born, and spent the first few months of life, in Storm Isle before the ARN rescued them. Yunho onl ever heard small pieces of information from his mother as he grew up in the naval base in Adelin. He spent his days sitting in stuffy classrooms while his mother taught the naval recruits, listening, learning and enjoying this time. He often took time to play with the recruits outside as well going for runs with them, playing sports and when he got a little older martial arts and weapon training. His evenings were spent in the small home he shared with his mother listening to stories and helping her to cook
As Yunho got older, growing up around the naval cadets for so long he had all but decided on enterting formal training, and through discussions with many higher ups he was all but promised a quick advancement after his training. Weeks before his 13th birthday he over heard a conversation about his mother and how she had come to stay in the naval base, talking of a rather well known pirate, Captain of the Black Mantle, and how he had attacked and targetted his mother before came to stay with the ARN.
After hearing this, Yunho immediately packed a bag, grabbed some coin and left in search of passage to the pirate island, Mist Moor, finding so with a merchant vessel who was willing to take him that far. Yunho paid both with coin and work, learning some of the more menial tasks on a vessel as they travelled. He celebrated his 13th birthday alone on the ship, not willing to mention his age to anyone and thanked those who had been willing to take him after the two and a half months he had spent on board.
Yunho had heard bits and pieces of Mist Moor but he hadn't expected quite he place he found himself in. He asked around for anyone that might be willing to give him information about the Pirate he was searching for, but being an outsider granted him nothing. He spent a few hard weeks on the street before one of the tavern owners took pity on him. He advised Yunho that he would not be able to get infomation so easily and he would need to listen. He offered the young boy a job and a place to stay. It wasn't anything amazing but it kept him off the streets and in time he learnt how to listen to the conversations around him and gain the information he was seeking.
It took over a year but he finally overheard that the Black Mantle had docked in Mist Moor once more. He thanked the tavern owner and set off to confront the man who had so carelessly hurt his family. Once he located the ship he waited, using what minimal training he had to attempt to ambush the man and get the upperhand. Unfortunately he failed this and was captured before he could even fully step foot on the deck. When taken before the captain to explain himself the captain had considered his words for a moment before laughing slightly and offering to show the boy exactly how he had treated his mother. Before he could react he was restrained, his shirt was removed and a heated piece of metal was driven down over his heart forever marking him a pirate and scaring him for life.
Over the next three years Yunho travelled with the Black Mantle where he was nothing more than a toy for the crew. All his attempts at killing the captain were nothing more than entertainment for the crew and always resulted in beatings for him afterwards. He was forced to scrub the deck, clean the bilge, and just about anything else the crew didnt want to do. On nights he wasn't left bleeding on the deck he was a play toy for the crew, either sexually or just to be pushed around. Despite the situation he was in Yunho never gave up on his desire, but when his 16th birthday came and passed he accepted that he needed a dfferent method and time to heal.
As he crew made port in Bane Cove for some simple repairs, Yunho waited for the crew to have their fun, suffering one final night before setting off once they were all too drunk to notice. He disappeared onto the island and made sure not to be seen by anyone until he was sure the ship had left without him. He watched the horizon daily, fearing the return on the ship as he struggled to survive once again, thanking his time on Mist Moor so he could keep himself going.
It was another few months, coming up on his 17th birthday when another pirate ship made port in Bane Cove. Like before, Yunho made his way to the docks only this time he asked to speak to te captain before trying to sneak aboard. When given his chance to see the captain he had not expected to see a familiar face looking back at him. He'd seen the face of Captain Kim Hyeonu plastered all over the naval base, only the actual man seemed far softer than his wanted posters. Stuttering over his words, very much afraid of the person before him, Yunho begged his case, asking for training to take down the man he had learnt was his father. He explained the situation he had been in over the past 3 years and how he was good at cleaning a ship and would do any job if they could just train him and return him to a port so he could carry out his mission.
It was after this moment that Yunho first saw the reason the wanted posters were aas frightening as they were. The anger on the captains face was intense, but he also learnted something very important about Captain Kim Hyeonu and the Black Pirates. They didn't stand for that kind of treatment. He was welcomed onto The Destiny and given proper medical treatment for all the damage that had been caused to him. As he had requested Yunho was taught to fight, taught how to survive on a hip, on the streets, in the world. And after another 3 years he went together with Captain Kim Hyeonu and together they took down the Black Mantle with the captain granting Yunho the final blow against his father.
Once he had sought his revenge Yunho thanked Captain Kim Hyeonu and swore at the next port they would be able to make he would leave them to their missions. Yunho continued to work on the ship and debated his options once more as he realised he would never be able to go back to the navy as he had originally planned. He was branded for life and the best he would really be able to do for himself was a job on Mist Moor, if he could even get that much. One night, as they neared port Yunho requested to speak to the captain again and requested to stay on the ship, or one of his others, as he had nothing else to do now thanks to his father. He voiced that he wished he could see his mother again but he understood that his choices now had him branded for life and he wanted to be able to repay them more for helping him. The captain agreed and Yunho felt a little more at ease.
He continued his work on the ship, still willing to do any job asked of him, until one day he worked out where they were, having learnt a lot about reading maps. They were very close to Asteria which was putting them in danger. Yunho didn't dare ask though. As they stopped off a small island the captain had told Yunho he had 2 weeks on land while they handled something nearby, and he would understand when he made it to the island. Granted a small row boat he was seen off as he nervously made his way to thee small island. It turned out the island was Storm Isle and his mother was there waiting for him. They spent two weeks together, where Yunho apologised and his mother was simply happy to know that he was well, and that she would remain on Storm Isle and that he should visit again when able.
When the two weeks were up and he made his way back to The Destiny, he was ready to continue the journey. He stuck with another group that had formed on The Destiny that were all around the same age as he was, learning with them directly from Captain Kim Hyeonu forming strong bonds with them as they all helped one another and eventually moved on to another ship, tasked with a special mission from Captain Kim Hyeonu.
