Spell-Channeling
Spell Channeling Weaponry, also called Spellblast Cannons, Shebby Blaster are a type of heavy artillery or field artillery employed by the Armed Forces of the Stygian Republic both in defensive and siege warfare.
They consist of a specially enchanted crystal-rune crafted by the Union of Magifactury Workers which is affixed to a cannon mount. Magick wielders of any kind can channel offensive spells, most often elemental ones, into the crystal which catalyzes its effect increasing both range and the destruction wreaked by it.
Such weapons make up a substantial part of the defensive budget of the People's Republic of Styx and are widely used.
Spellblast Cannons exist both as mostly immobile defensive weapons, track-mounted mobile defense systems and beast-pulled and assembled siege weaponry.
The Union of Magifactury Workers is in the process of developing smaller versions for personal use for assault troops but such research is slow.
The slang term "Shebby Blaster" stems from the sometimes derogatory term Volshebnik, meaning "wizard" in Umbraen Elvish.
